Rob and McKenna met in Tacoma, Washington, during their college years at the University of Puget Sound. Both played competitive ultimate frisbee on the men’s and women’s club teams. McKenna was a freshman and Rob was a junior when they got paired up as mystery dates for a frisbee party! McKenna instantly had heart eyes for Rob. One night at another frisbee party, Rob accidentally spilled some beer on McKenna, they started dating shortly thereafter, and the rest is history!

Over the past nine years, the two have navigated more than a year of long distance, a global pandemic, their first home together in Seattle, Rob’s ankle surgery and two nose breaks, a move back to Colorado, and the chaos of law school. During this time, McKenna and Rob have bonded over their love for hiking, skiing, biking, brewery hopping, playing Scrabble, traveling (totaling 9 countries together so far!) and cheering on the Denver Nuggets. McKenna forced her deep love for ice cream onto Rob and the two have been on over a thousand ice cream dates near and far.

Rob proposed to McKenna in June 2024 at one of their favorite spots, Wash Park, as she was in the throes of bar exam studying — he totally surprised her!

Both Colorado natives (**see note), McKenna and Rob are excited to share their love for the outdoors with their friends and family as they join in marriage in the mountains of Idaho Springs!

**Rob disagrees because of his birth and first six months of life in California, but he is basically a Colorado native.
